Drawing on polyvagal theory, neurobiology and epigenetics, this talk will examine how trauma is a deeply embodied experience. Dr Jane Mulcahy will explore Positive and Adverse Childhood Experiences, Adverse Community Environments, and the Social Determinants of Health, examining how these factors shape the nervous system, sensory processing and emotional regulation in trauma. Walk away with a clearer understanding of the connection between early experiences, trauma and the body.

*Speaker Bio:*
*Jane Mulcahy PhD is researcher and activist, with extensive research experience on prison, Probation, law, human rights and trauma. She has worked as a researcher in the area of criminal justice, penal policy and social justice since 2005 and is currently a Research Fellow with the Research Evidence into the Policy, Programmes and Practice (REPPP) team at the University of Limerick.*
