**Toninho Horta** is considered one of the most creative figures in Brazilian popular music. At a young age, he joined Clube da Esquina, a group formed in Minas Gerais in the late 1960s that blended influences from rock, samba, and Brazilian regional music. Alongside singer Milton Nascimento and other collaborators, he contributed to the album *Clube da Esquina* (1972), a landmark in MPB for its blend of poetry and sonic experimentation.

Over his illustrious career, Horta’s music has transcended borders, and has been performed and recorded by a diverse array of artists, from Pat Metheny to Earth, Wind & Fire. With a prolific discography boasting over 1,000 recordings and 40 albums, his contributions to music are both vast and profound.
