For the closing night of Shortwave, IKLECTIK presents Joshua Woolford, I Am Fya, and K’BOKO showing distinct yet interconnected approaches to sound as an embodied and spatial practice.
Joshua’s work is grounded in cultural research and their lived experience as part of the queer Black Afro-Caribbean diaspora in England, confronting socio-political violence through embodied knowledge, intuition, and the unseen as disruptive and generative forces.
I Am Fya presents her latest visual album 'Homeland', a meditation on identity, culture, and radical self-love, navigating themes of otherness and belonging while reaching toward a deep spiritual connection with land and ancestors.
K’BOKO is a Brazilian, Berlin-based music producer, performer, percussionist, music therapist, and social worker whose sound he calls “high ancient future vibes”, blending afrodiasporic rhythms with 808s, sub bass, and synths to create immersive journeys that bridge Afro-Brazilian cadences and global underground dancefloors.
