Luisa Almaguer is one of the most unique and powerful voices in Latin American alternative music. A trans woman singer-songwriter, actress, and communicator from Mexico City, Luisa blends folk, grunge, and shoegaze with visceral lyrics about identity, love, and resistance. With two acclaimed albums — Mataronomatar and Weyes — she has captivated audiences both nationally and internationally, earning recognition from outlets like Rolling Stone, Vice, and KEXP. Her latest release, Weyes (2024), cements her status as a fierce storyteller of the trans experience, delivered through an intimate, raw, and deeply emotional sound.
She has collaborated on projects such as Damon Albarn’s Africa Express and performed at high-profile festivals like Bahidorá. Her image has appeared in global campaigns including Spotify’s GLOW (Times Square) and Apple Music’s Up Next Latam.
