The Datsuns + Stacy Crowne - MTC, Cologne
New Zealand rock veterans The Datsuns are returning to Cologne as part of their upcoming European tour, bringing their trademark riff-heavy sound back to the MTC stage. Since their self-titled debut in 2002 - which topped the charts and led to shared stages with Metallica, The White Stripes, and Queens of the Stone Age — the band has maintained a global reputation for raw, guitar-driven live performances. Having previously worked with Led Zeppelin's John Paul Jones and built a catalog of seven studio albums, the group is currently touring with a lineup featuring Scandinavian drummer Adam Lindmark (Dead Lord). European audiences will get a first listen to tracks from their upcoming eighth record, Moonstruck Man, alongside classic anthems.
Opening the night on their home turf are Cologne's own Stacy Crowne. Formed in 2014, the quartet has spent the last decade carving out their place in the underground scene with a sound heavily shaped by late-90s Scandinavian rock-and-roll. Backed by the release of their full-length albums via California's Savage Magic Records, they deliver straightforward, fast-paced sets focused on sharp hooks and dual-guitar melodies. This pairing brings together two generations of garage-influenced rock in the intimate setting of the MTC club.
