Trinket Presents: Stephen Star & Atlantis DuBois

Homespun label and creative outlet trinket present their ever first live show, giving the stage to two of their favourite new songwriters, Stephen Star and Atlantis DuBois.

Dublin’s Stephen Sorenson is often found crooning for “laptop soul” outfit bog band, a project that brings the glossy sophisti-pop of Steely Dan and their ilk into the age of the DAW. Working solo as Stephen Star on new record “Newt”, sees Sorensen enter a more earnest mode, weaving delicate fingerpicking, lapsteel runs, and washes of fuzz guitar alongside occasional moments of field recording-backed ambience.

Atlantis Dubois is a London artist with a musical legacy that runs deep. Her grandfather was a member of the London reggae band Matumbi, her mother toured internationally as a backing vocalist, and her father an internationally renowned steelpan player. With her solo project, Atlantis weaves buttery vocals, electronic textures, and bossa nova elements into a sound that is both intimate and expansive.
