RUS (with SHEZ & Mama Millionaire)

Formed in 2021, RUS is a four piece band, blending elements of alternative jazz, neo-soul/hip hop, rock, and anything with a groove. Inspired by artists like Meshell Ndegeocello and The Invisible, RUS have built their sound around improvisation and friendship.

Influenced by the melting pot of London’s idiosyncratic sound worlds combined with their own diasporic experiences, RUS combine bass driven melodies, syncopated guitars and deep, dynamic grooves to genre-bending, organic and often cinematic sonic landscapes. Their name is derived from the Urdu/Hindi word meaning ‘essence’.

RUS are: Stefan Iyapah (guitar), Shez Manzoor (guitar), Raj Savjani (bass) and Remi Graves (drums).
