Max Kroon w/ Sylv & Johnny

Max Kroon is an emerging drummer, percussionist, and composer on London’s improvised music scene.

His newest project brings together Benji O’Riordan (alto sax), Alex Bishop (guitars), and Annie Walton (cello), combining free jazz, electronic ambient, spoken word, and folk.

Training at the prestigious Guildhall School of Music, his drumming is influenced by the likes of Paul Motian, Kweku Sumbry, Ari Hoenig, and Max Roach. In his compositions, Max’s work centres on space, memory, and connection, taking inspiration from philosophers such as Tetsurō Watsuji and Maurice Merleau-Ponty, which underpins his unique sound world.
