Xiaoqiao + ION with Christina Deva

An evening of ambient rapture. Experimental musicians ION and Christina Deva unveil their new duo project. Bridging the worlds between Gregorian chanting abstraction and the surrealist etherea of non-linear ambient improvisation. The evening promises portals of immersive soundscapes, incorporating medieval instrumentation such as the Bowed Psaltery, Hulusi, Pipe Organ and vocal walls of sound. Headlining the duo’s first outing will be renowned London-based harpist, Xiaoqiao. Treating the harp as a vessel for atmosphere through a melding of tradition and experimentation, her work invites stillness, tender reflection, and quiet transformation.
