Luggs are an alt-pop grunge four-piece building word of mouth momentum through gigs that feel far bigger than the sum of their parts. Fresh off a sold-out launch show for their debut single Start Stop, their music stretches between restraint and complete collapse. Twisting hooks cut through frayed guitars as songs threaten to spill over, held together by four people who never seem entirely in control. Their second single, Seaweed, lands at the end of the month. Get down early.

Marrying the arch posturing of contemporary indie and the spirit of 90s alt rock, with the camp of y2k poptimism, the euphoria of Midwest emo and the harmony of música popular brasileira, the six-piece Meaner Loy (led by prolific engineer and producer Joe Osborne) finds its even keel in London’s restless indie music scene.
