This is not a World Music Festival.
This is PHRE.
PHRE Festival presents a one-off residency performance bringing together Sandy Chamoun, Anthony Sahyoun, Simon Popp and Dumama, followed by a live set from Carl Gari.
The PHRE Residency asks a simple question: what happens when four musicians who have never played together before meet for the first time? Sandy Chamoun and Anthony Sahyoun from Lebanon, Dumama from South Africa and Munich-based Simon Popp come together across composition, poetry, sound art, performance, jazz drumming, loop machines and electronic effects.
Over several days of improvisation, listening and exchange, they develop a collective sound shaped by their different realities, artistic languages and social contexts. The final performance becomes a snapshot of this encounter: raw, immediate and unrepeatable.
Carl Gari continue the night with their intense live sound between machines, instruments and bodies. The Munich trio move between techno, downbeat, drum’n’bass, post-rock, wave and punk, creating music that feels physical, atmospheric and full of tension.
