THE DEATH OF POP
The Death of Pop’s new album ‘FLOG’ is very much a sonic celebration of the group’s eleven year journey together, a combination of taking their tried and tested sound and moving it forward. Conceptually, the album is acknowledging the ephemeral nature of music making in 2024. Brothers Angus James and Oliver James formed The Death Of Pop on the South-Coast of England in 2013. Their home-produced songs reflected the dismal summers and repulsive sea breeze of a forgotten seaside wonderland; recreating these thoughts through a broken mirror of 90s shoegaze, 80s new wave, paisley underground and sunshine pop. Since their formation, the band have worked with Art is Hard Records, Too Pure, Hidden Bay and Discos De Kirlian. The Death of Pop inhabit somewhere between contemporary and nostalgia, still maintaining their original ethos of sonic exploration in forward-thinking melodic pop songwriting.

HEALEES
Healees was formed in Paris by American expat Bryan Quinn and Breton transplant Renaud Chaure in 2016. Joined by Hillevi Robertsson on bass and Arthur Chen on drums, the four-nationality 4-piece blend shoegaze, new wave, noise and power pop into a style as mesmerizing as it is catchy. A set of demos in 2020 led to a self-titled maxi-EP on Toulouse’s Hidden Bay Records in 2022, with a full-length LP due out in 2024.
