Glebe is a rising London-based jazz ensemble blending rich improvisation with the melodic storytelling of popular song. Formed by guitarist Kieran Gunter and pianist/keyboardist Chris Bland, the band has expanded to include some of the UK’s finest young jazz musicians.

The foundations of Glebe were laid at Leeds College of Music, where Kieran and Chris first crossed paths. Their musician-packed flat above a well-loved chip shop on Glebe Place became a hub for all-night jam sessions, leading to a shared artistic vision. Influenced by Kenny Wheeler, Maria Schneider, Shai Maestro, The Impossible Gentlemen, The Pat Metheny Group, and Brazilian greats, the band fuses the sophistication of jazz with captivating melodic narratives.

Individually, Glebe‘s members have performed in prestigious settings, from The National Youth Jazz Orchestra to major session gigs. As a band, they are carving out a fresh space in the UK jazz landscape—melding contemporary jazz with global influences. Their debut recording, Gaudí, is the first chapter in an exciting musical journey.

Presented by Toulouse Lautrec Jazz Club.
