Ritmo Del Barrio presents Chicha Por Favor

Chicha Por Favor returns to light up East London with another deep dive into the hypnotic pulse of tropical cumbia. Rooted in Peruvian chicha but always looking forward, this edition welcomes a brand new live force ready to shake the foundations.

Headlining are Las Chanchas, a project born in 2025 with a mission of high energy, fearless experimentation and a bold reimagining of Amazonian chicha. Challenging traditional line ups and instrumentation, they prove that fewer players can still deliver a rich, psychedelic tropical sound. Drawing from diverse musical backgrounds, the group explores new sonic territory while keeping the hypnotic cumbia groove at the centre.

Special guest Danny Fitzgerald (Rum Punch Show, NTS Radio) joins the session. A Liverpool born DJ and renowned digger, he has compiled calypso, highlife, juju, apala and Afro Latin jazz for Soul Jazz Records and spent years championing rare Caribbean, Latin American and West African records.

Residents Paskal Rough & Tough (Cool Breeze) and Ritmo del Barrio complete the lineup, guiding dancers through vintage Latin American sounds and the psychedelic energy of Peruvian chicha.

Expect swirling guitars, rolling percussion, deep basslines and sweat on the dancefloor.
