**Explore the ongoing impact of the Harlem Renaissance through the lens of music today, with Tomorrow’s Warriors and artists including Soweto Kinch.**
The acclaimed jazz development organisation Tomorrow’s Warriors teams up with saxophonist Kinch and a host of special guests to examine how this remarkable creative revolution continues to influence musicians and writers 100 years later.
A Tomorrow’s Warriors alum, award-winning alto-saxophonist, MC and broadcaster, Kinch is one of the most exciting musicians in both the British jazz and hip-hop scenes.
One of the few artists in either genre with a degree in Modern History from Oxford University, he has amassed an impressive list of accolades and awards on both sides of the Atlantic – including a Mercury Prize nomination, two UMA Awards and two MOBOs for Best Jazz Act.
Host of BBC Radio Three’s *Round Midnight,* Kinch brings a deep understanding of how incredibly profound the influence of the Harlem Renaissance was, and continues to be.
He says: ‘Despite being 3,500 miles away and almost a century in the past, it’s still highly relevant in today’s world: from Duke Ellington’s music to Langston Hughes’ poetry and Zora Neale Hurston’s folklore, it represented a genuinely revolutionary flowering of artistic expression… This is a coming together to celebrate the embodiment of Black joy.’
This event is part of *Tomorrow’s Warriors Presents Harlem Renaissance: A 100 Year Revolution.*
