We're excited to welcome J Mahon to Rough Trade Berlin for a Live Performance + Signing, celebrating his new album 'Begin Again, Again' which is released on 8th August 2025.

In 2024, J Mahon set out to create an album that had a ‘true’ album feel; one that evokes memories of hours spent in your teenage bed with headphones on, looking at the ceiling and wondering at the future. Taking inspiration from the likes of Sparklehorse and Daniel Johnston, J Mahon creates a more uplifting and approachable ‘Chamber Pop’ sonic landscape, akin to acts like Spiritualized and Sigur Ros, while his soulful voice and lyricism evokes otherworldly luminaries like Jeff Buckley, Townes Van Zandt, and Joanna Newsome.

While ‘Begin Again, Again’ is often melancholic and brutally honest lyrically, the instrumentations are woven with a sense of enthusiasm for the future; a euphoric hope that leaps into the heart of the listener.
