**Michelle Escoffery presents the return of Kindred Spirit, a night of eclectic soul, R&B, jazz and spoken word from up-and-coming and established musicians.**
The live music night, founded by Ivor Novello and Brit Award-winning songwriter Michelle Escoffery, was a premier monthly live event in London, becoming development ground to many of the UK’s finest artists, including Corinne Bailey-Rae, Slam Champion poet and author Kat Francois and Mercury Prize-nominee TY.
Artists featuring in this edition include Nii Ayikwei Parkes, Bembe Segue, Tahn Solo and Ashainë White.
Nii Ayikwei Parkes is a multi-genre author, working across poetry, radio, fiction and children’s writing. Winner of multiple international awards, he is the author of several books.
Singer, composer and producer Bembe Segue, who fuses Brazilian and Afro-Cuban beats with hip-hop and broken beat.
Tahn Solo’s artistic background is in musical theatre, but as a neo-soul artist, his sounds are soft and soothing, and provide a fresh and alternative take on the genre.
London-based singer-songwriter Ashainë White strives to be ‘alternative’ in the purest sense of the word, with her ‘grunge-soul’ sound earning her an Ivor Novello Rising Star nomination.
Leading as music director is London-based composer, producer and bassist Rudi Creswick. Known for his skills on bass with UK soul and jazz acts like Tom Misch, Loyle Carner and Alfa Mist.
