Painted Vein

Painted Vein is the music project of musician, producer, and audio engineer Andrea Fox Volpato, who has spent the last decade writing, recording, and touring worldwide with various projects.

From 2017 to 2022, Andrea was the lead guitarist and backing vocalist of Italian band New Candys, touring across Europe, the UK, Australia, the US, Canada, Mexico, and the Balkans, and opening for The Dandy Warhols, The Black Angels, and BJM. He performed at Psycho Vegas, SXSW, Devilstone, and Levitation France, and recorded, mixed, and co-produced New Candys’ albums Bleeding Magenta and Vyvyd.

He also recorded, mixed, and produced MØAA’s albums Euphoric Recall and Jaywalker, co-wrote and shared vocals on their single “X Marks,” and toured with them as guitarist and vocalist across Europe, the UK, and the US, including showcases at SXSW in 2022 and 2024. He remains an active touring member of MØAA. Previously, he was the drummer of Italian noise-rock band Love in Elevator, touring Europe and opening for Shellac and Refused.

His debut album Dripping Only Black showcases his writing and production, with every instrument performed, recorded, and mixed by him in studios in Venice and Seattle. Released on November 15, 2024 via WWNBB and AWAL, it was followed by EU and US West Coast tours. The first single from his second album will be released on December 4, 2025, followed by a EU/UK tour in February 2026.
