leather.head are a five-piece band made up of siblings Toby, Josh and Aidan alongside close friends Charlie and Cole. Formed in Brighton in 2016, the band grew from DIY roots driven by a desire to challenge the lack of racial diversity in their local scene, learning their instruments onstage while playing early house and community shows.
Now based in London, leather.head create raw, politically charged, genre-blurring music that draws from post-rock, slowcore, screamo and experimental metal. Following a run of singles, an EP and a live record, their debut album mud again is out now via Toby’s micro-label 2horse Records.
Recorded live with longtime collaborator Jamie Neville at Teeth Studios, the album captures the band in their most natural state — intense, emotional and unpredictable — moving from crushing heaviness to moments of fragility, united by a fierce DIY spirit and deep collective energy.
