Para DJs e produtores aspirantes, ou mesmo para qualquer pessoa que aprecie uma boa história, a génese de Palms Trax não podia soar mais idílica. Conheces aquela história: o filho curioso, embora ingénuo, da Riviera Inglesa consegue um emprego numa das principais lojas de discos de Londres e descobre os mestres do house de Chicago e do techno de Detroit. Mais tarde, ao vaguear por Berlim, as suas tentativas primitivas de emular o som dos seus novos heróis acabam, acidentalmente, por lhe render um autêntico êxito de pista de dança. A partir daí, já sabemos o resto da história.

O som de Palms Trax tornou-se presença constante no enorme palco principal do Dekmantel, fluindo de forma perfeita entre house vintage, disco esotérico e os vários tons de um fervilhante underground britânico que ajudou a definir o que é o Jay enquanto artista. Todos os DJs elogiam recorrentemente a sua vasta bagagem musical e versatilidade e isso diz muito do que é capaz de fazer nos seus sets, algo que o levou a percorrer o mundo. Uma estreia no Plano B e um regresso muito aguardado ao Porto, no próximo dia 20 de Fevereiro.

For aspiring DJs and producers, or indeed anyone who appreciates a good story, the genesis of Palms Trax couldn’t have read any dreamier. You know the one: curious yet naive son of the English Riviera lands a job at one of London’s leading record stores and discovers the masters of Chicago house and Detroit techno. Later, stumbling around Berlin, his primitive attempts to emulate the sound of his newfound heroes accidentally land him a bona fide dance floor hit.

The sound of Palms Trax has been a fixture on Dekmantel's enormous main stage, drifting seamlessly between vintage house, esoteric disco and the various shades of a bubbling UK underground he has helped define. All DJs regularly credited for their breadth of musical knowledge and versatility, speak volumes for Donaldson’s DJing nous, which has lead him on an international trail. A debut at Plano B and a highly antecipated return to Porto, next February 20th.
