Harari (AR)

Harari is a Buenos Aires–based DJ, vinyl collector, and curator whose practice is rooted in deep musical research and an eclectic approach to the dancefloor. Active for over 15 years, he moves fluidly between underground disco and house discoveries on vinyl and sharp contemporary productions, always guided by curiosity, context, and narrative rather than genre boundaries. This approach has taken him across Europe and Latin America, with appearances at festivals such as Bordeaux Open Air, Selvagem, Gop Tun Festival, and Macki Festival, as well as clubs and cultural spaces in Paris, Barcelona, Amsterdam, Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, Lima, Córdoba, Buenos Aires, and beyond.

In 2017, he founded Highlife, a multidisciplinary event series where he acts as curator, booker, producer, resident DJ, and host. The project became a reference point within the Buenos Aires underground thanks to its forward-thinking musical direction and its role in connecting local audiences with international artists and visual practitioners. Harari has shared the booth with artists such as Sassy J, Eric Duncan, Rahaan, Bradley Zero, Demi Riquísimo, Wolf + Lamb, Cody Currie, and Raphael Top Secret, among many others.

Beyond the booth, Harari has developed a parallel curatorial practice focused on rare and overlooked Argentine music. Alongside Ric Piccolo, he co-curated, researched, and produced Síntesis Moderna: An Alternative Vision of Argentinian Music (1980–1990), released in 2022 by Soundway Records. The compilation received broad international recognition, including support and airplay from figures such as Gilles Peterson, and helped recontextualize Argentina’s synth-driven underground of the 1980s for a global audience.

Continuing this line of work, Harari is currently preparing Danza Secreta: Lost and Hidden Grooves from Argentina (1970–1980), a new compilation set for release in May 2026 on London-based BBE Records, exploring rare Argentine funk, disco, and hybrid forms from the 1970s. Across DJing, events, and archival projects, his work consistently frames music as a living cultural practice — one that connects past and present through the shared experience of sound.
