This is not a World Music Festival.
This is PHRE.
PHRE Festival presents Kallemi and Meral Polat for a night between raw live energy, global narratives, psychedelic rock and powerful voices.
Kallemi was founded in 2018 by Jasmin Albash, La Nefera, Maysa Daw and Rasha Nahas as a collaborative project between musicians from Switzerland, the Dominican Republic and Palestine. Their music moves across hip-hop, indie, electronic sounds and global influences, creating a powerful, genre-crossing sound shaped between Basel, Ramallah, Haifa and Berlin. With their raw energy and layered storytelling, Kallemi bring together different musical worlds without smoothing out their edges.
Meral Polat is a Dutch singer with Turkish-Kurdish roots. Her music connects 1970s Anatolian psychedelia with Kurdish dengbêj storytelling, moving between folk, psychedelic rock and experimental sounds. Together with her band, she creates driving grooves, retro organ textures and electric guitar lines, carried by a voice that shifts between tenderness, longing and fierce determination.
